If you are interested in adopting a collie, please download an adoption application, or call us at 800-296-3265 and we will mail or email an application to you. Then fill out the adoption application and send it to us at the address provided.
One of our members will contact you within 2 to 3 weeks of receiving and approving your application to schedule a home visit. During a home visit one of our volunteers comes to your home and meets you, your family members, and any pets that live in the home.
After the visit we send a home visit report back to the board with any changes to the original application. Sometimes we find that potential adopters are open to a broader range of collies than indicated on their application.
The waiting period for adopting one of our collies varies. It depends heavily on what collies enter CRLNE and when they are ready for their new homes. Each adoption is a very thoughtful process and is not based on first-come, first-served.
Not all our available collies are posted on online. If you are interested in adopting we recommend that you send in your application so when a collie becomes available that is a potential match, your application process is already complete. If we don’t have a collie that matches a qualified adopter’s lifestyle, we can keep your online application on file for future consideration.
We thank you in advance for your patience, as we are an entirely volunteer-run organization.
For more information about the application please call us at 1-800-296-3265 or send an email to: CRLNEapplications@gmail.com
“We applied to CRLNE to adopt a collie, and waited for about eight months before the ideal match for our family came into the league. We met him and fell in love. Now, a year later, it’s like he’s always been here; everyone who knows us tells us it’s amazing how well he fits into our family. We are so thankful to CRLNE!”

"We recently welcomed Stormy, a five-year-old male Collie, into our home and our hearts. From the start of the whole adoption process; application papers, the home visit, and meeting him at the foster home, we interfaced with a unique group of “Collie People” who are caring, knowledgeable and enthusiastic individuals that made our adoption an enjoyable and wonderful experience."
