8/13/19 UPDATE ON SEIZURE OF DOZENS OF COLLIES IN SOLON, ME
FOSTERS NEEDED IN MAINE

We know many of you are eager to learn the status of the Solon collies who were seized from their owner by Maine authorities on July 23, 2019. A couple of CRLNE board members, along with members of the Collie Club of Maine, had an opportunity to help care for the collies this weekend. For the most part, their sweet collie spirits are still intact although some are frightened and unsocialized. Please be assured they are all in a safe and clean environment and get two meals per day. They are even being introduced to treats like milk bones and tiny pieces of hotdogs. It’s almost funny to watch them sniff hesitantly and then gobble it down. Some are still catching on to the idea of a treat.

We still do not have any idea if the State of Maine will ultimately release any collies to us that we can place for adoption. However, we have now been asked by the State of Maine for foster homes. FOSTERS MUST LIVE IN THE STATE OF MAINE. Should you wish to be considered as a foster, please contact us at collierescueleague@gmail.com. Please be aware that fostering a collie in no way guarantees that you will be able to keep that collie. There is no guarantee, either on the part of CRLNE or the State of Maine, so please have your eyes open going into it should you want to open your heart and home to a collie in need.

At this time, we also would like to take the opportunity to thank those who have made contributions toward the Solon collies. We are so very grateful for the support. Those who have contributed include: Heather Kerekes, Collie Club of Western PA, Hartford Springfield Collie Club, NorCal Collie Rescue (northern CA) and as previously announced, the Collie Rescue Foundation. We will continue to keep you posted as information unfolds.
